Formerly the Roadrunner Inn (later Southwest Inn), this hotel at 6855 Southwest Freeway was a low-end place with many staying for extended periods, and known for drugs and prostitution. A huge fire on May 31, 2013 consumed the interior and killed four firefighters in one of the deadliest blazes in Houston's history. The damaged parts were demolished soon after, but most of the structure remains intact. Bhojan Restaurant (formerly "Thali", there since '93) was the vegetarian Indian restaurant where the fire started. Bhojan later moved to a new location within a few months.
