Abandoned Soviet base. Laboratory No,5. (Kasatka) used to research and develop torpedoes and underwater mines. Base also used to research non-corrosive coatings and fishing/trawling technology. Closed around 1986.

The laboratory operated since 1960. It was organized as a test base of NII-400 (later the Central Research Institute "Gidropribor") for newly designed mines. Several wooden buildings were built in which the general assembly of mines, the premises for the operation and assembly of electronic acoustic equipment, for processing photographic films and preparing oscilloscopes, for checking and preparing gyroscopic recording instruments, for preparing the cable system, rockets, and other necessary production facilities.

Separate premises were provided for storing secret and other technical literature and documentation, premises for the meeting of the commission for testing and other necessary.

The production premises were equipped with the necessary stands to check the equipment, where the power supply had to be supplied with the necessary parameters of supply voltages.
