21-story modernist residential building completed in 1964. Designed by Wechsler & Schimenti, it is clad in white brick. The south facade has three wide bays separated by two narrower bays. The east facade on the avenue has four wide bays at the north, and four narrower bays to the south.
The main entrance is on 44th Street, at the 2nd bay from the west, framed in white marble, with a pointed canvas canopy. The ground floor along the avenue is lined with stone, metal, and glass storefronts. On the south facade, the upper floors have three 1-over-1 windows separated by two wider single-pane windows in the wide bays, and tripartite windows (with 1-over-1 panes at the ends) in the narrow bays. The east facade has the same window pattern in the wide bays, and the the same pattern in the first of the narrow bays to the south. The next bay to the south has double-windows, and the two southern bays are the narrowest, with single-windows in the southernmost bay, and small bathroom windows in the bay to its right.
The north and west facade are faced in concrete. The rear, west facade has seven bays of tripartite windows. The north facade has three bays of single-windows, the two on the ends with smaller windows. There is also a short wing at the west end, which has one bay of single-windows, and a typical wide bay on its north-facing wall.
On each facade, the end bays begin a series of setbacks above the 14th floor, with angled corners and side walls. There is a 1-story wing extending to 45th Street, with an entrance to the underground parking garage.
The building contains 240 apartment units. The ground floor is occupied by Essence Nail & Spa, Perfect Brows threading salon, Cafe Olympia, and The Health Nuts health food store.
