This area is under the State Forest department. It is the ruins of erstwhile Khejur port and Telegraph office. A few meters away was a huge port used by British for civil and Naval purpose. In 1862 a direct cyclone hit devastated the entire port and the entire 'Khedgere city' killing over 60,000 people (as per estimation by East India Company). However interior rural damage was much higher than this. A Huge temple south of the port also went under the Indian Ocean.

Ruins of Telegraph office and Port is now under the State Forest Department - reducing every day due to illegal occupation by goons and local politicians.

Corruption & Ignorance of the state and misery of local people that a huge brick kiln build up in 2009 at the place of erstwhile Khejuri Port that can be seen in images.
