restaurant, bar, commercial building
6-story commercial building completed in 1907. Designed by George Keister as a store-and-loft building, it has a 2-story storefront at the base, clad in red-and-black iron and glass, with the upper floors hidden behind a 4-story billboard angled slightly to the north. The ground floor has a projecting metal-and-glass entrance portico at the north side, and is covered by an angled red awning. The end piers at the lower two floors are painted red with black trim. A large band across the top of the ground floor has a neon sign for the restaurant and bar that occupies the lower floors, Tonic. The 2nd floor has an open studio window, with a metal railing, covered by a smaller awning. Another red-and-black sign band caps the 2nd floor. A vertical sign with neon lettering is mounted to the north end of the facade at the 2nd floor.
