 apartment building, commercial building

4-story residential building completed around the 1880s. It is clad in red brick with six bays of single-windows above a ground-floor metal-and-glass storefront. The storefront is covered by an angled glass canopy and has a central entrance with sliding doors. There is geometric brickwork at the top of the ground floor, partially behind the canopy. At the south end is a recessed black metal door with an entrance to both the upper floors and access to the rear building at 729 Ninth Avenue, which has no direct street access. The rear building has three floors and is faced in plain light-grey stucco. It has three bays of south-facing windows, with a couple more on the north side.

The windows on the upper floors of the front facade on No. 731 have flat, black stone sills and black metal cornices. A black iron fire escape runs down the middle two bays of the facade, which is topped by a simple brick roof parapet with stone coping. The ground floor is occupied by Amish Market.
