 apartment building, 1860s construction

5-story Neo-Grec residential building completed in 1869. It is surfaced in brownstone, and is a near-twin of the building to the east, the only discernible differences being the roof cornice and fire escape, which was added later. The ground floor has a central entrance with a small stoop. There is a black iron fence around the basement areaway, and the basement level has rough-faced, rusticated stone. The entrance has a glass door with sidelight and transom, framed by pilasters with brackets supporting a cornice. On either side of the entry is a large window with a full surround, including bracketed sills and cornice.

The upper floors have four bays of windows, also with projecting full surrounds and cornices. A black metal fire escape runs down the facade, with landings extending onto both of the neighboring buildings; the railings on the eastern landings are more ornamental than the rest. The facade is crowned by a black metal roof cornice with brackets and panels; the center panel is ornamented with swags and a crowning sunburst.
