 apartment building, 1886_construction

5-story residential building completed in 1886. It is clad in dark-red-painted brick above a brown-painted stone base, rusticated and rough-faced around the windows and basement. The central entrance has a small stoop spanning the basement areaways on either side, where there are paired windows. The entrance has a glass door and sidelight framed by brown pillars with brackets supporting an entablature that extends across the whole ground floor. Flanking the doorway are paired round-arched windows with small keystones. The smooth-surfaced stone bands below the windows have carved panels.

The upper floors have four bays of square-headed windows between slightly-projecting piers, topped by white stone round-arches filled by dark-red terra-cotta foliate carvings. A black metal fire escape runs down the middle two bays of the facade, which is crowned by a brown metal roof cornice with brackets, modillions, dentils, and panels.
