Yeisk Spit Island

"Island of Seven Winds", as well as "Green" or "Ptichy" - so the inhabitants of the Yeisky district call the uninhabited island Yeyskaya Spit. It is located in Taganrog Bay, 3 kilometers from Yeyskaya Spit, of which the island is a part. The separation occurred in the spring of 1914, as a result of a violent storm. Seven Winds Island is unique and the only one in the Azov Sea. It is an atoll, which has the shape of a rupture ring. You can see and visit it from April to September. During this period there is a boat trip around the bay and Yeysky estuary with a landing on the island. Already from the quiet bay, where the boat docks, before the tourists discover the amazing beaches and a variety of flora and fauna. The island is home to huge colonies of birds: gulls, cormorants, pelicans, herons. For those wishing to get better acquainted with the rare nature, organized hikes deep into the island. The lake, famous for its healing hydrogen sulfide mud, is very popular.
