This battalion has a long history of involvrment in the wars in Southern Lebanon and within the Golan Heights. It continued to serve along the Lebanese border until its formal withdrawal in May 2000. In the Peace for Galilee War regiment fought with the Golani Brigade, first in the central sector and then in the western sector. Regiment was a tough battle in the refugee camp Ein Hilweh outskirts of Sidon. Then it participated in the Village - Seal is a village which controls the environment, which was fortified and powerful Syrian forces.

Today, the battalion continues to hold the line north of Mount Dov sectors, loud Ridge and Mount Hermon. This is the Battalion main operating base at Camp Yoav, however its operational duties along the Lebanese and Syrian borders in the very northern sectors of the Golan require it to be ready to deploy to forward operating bases along those frontier positions.
