place with historical importance, interesting place
This is the location of Fish Town, a now defunct artist community from the 1960's and 1970's. The poets Robert Sund and Clyde Sanborn , artists Richard Gilkey, Morris Graves and Charles Krafft and author Tom Robbins all called this place home.
Their collective work eventually became known as the “Northwest School” of contemporary art.
