Penn Cove, on Whidbey Island in the state of Washington, is the location of at least two places of great interest. The first is the town of Coupeville, county seat of Island County. Coupeville is a well-preserved historic town dating from the mid-1850s and is located in the heart of Ebey's Landing Historic Reserve, a unit of the National Park Service. Penn Cove is also the location of a large mussel-farming enterprise which is known for its high-quality mussels. Penn Cove mussels are shipped to many restaurants and are highly prized by consumers.
