 office building, apartment building

3-story residential/office building completed in 1885 as part of a row of eight matching rowhouses. Like the others, it has a 3-bay facade on the upper floors, but the lower levels have been heavily altered than most. The original stoop has been removed and replaced with a metal staircase with a small landing at the front, doubling back toward the facade; two panes of glass railing front the landing, above metal screens. There is additional metal screening next to the staircase, with two glass-panel doors allowing entry to the areaway in front of the former raised-basement. There is a recessed set of doors at the right on the basement level.

The facade is been re-clad in beige brick. At the parlor floor, the metal stairs lead to a recessed metal-and-glass doorway with large plate-glass windows to the right. The west window is wider, and both have green translucent glass at the bottoms, and are framed by thick black metal mullions. There are projecting, black-painted side walls at the ground level and parlor-floor level, with a small black metal canopy over the doorway. The two upper floors retain the more traditional three bays of windows, and the original grey metal roof cornice remains, with panels and brackets that match the other buildings. A projecting flagpole is mounted over the middle window of the top floor. The basement and parlor-floor levels are used as office space, with apartments on the top two floors.
