 apartment building, 1884_construction

5-story residential building completed in 1884. It is clad in brownstone, painted bright lime green at the ground floor and basement level. The ground floor is banded and the basement has rusticated and rough-faced. The main entrance is at the west, with a few small steps across the basement areaway, enclosed by a black iron fence. The entrance has wood-and-glass paneled double-doors and a transom set behind a portico consisting of engaged, square columns at the rear, and round Doric columns at the front, springing from common bases that form sidewalls, and supporting a portico roof topped by a cornice that extends across the rest of the ground floor as well. There are two windows to the left of the doors, and two at the basement, all with iron grilles.

The upper floors have three bays of windows in full stone surrounds, including bracketed sills and eared lintels with small cornices. At the top floor there are two narrow, vertical projections with rounded bottoms between the windows; the facade is crowned by a green metal roof cornice with brackets and modillions.
