During the reconstruction of Thalia Hall were performed archaeological excavations that have revealed a system of channels which served to drain water from ditches.
This channel-tunnel is located in the middle of the Zwinger, the space between the two defence curtains and may date back to the 15th century, preceding the Thick Tower (now Thalia Hall) documented in 1540.
