fortification, listed building / architectural heritage, city wall, 13th century construction

Fragment of the City wall belonging to the second precinct. This fragment is part of the outer wall, doubling the fortification of the plateau (around Piata Mica) and is estimated to have been raised later, in the second half of the XIII century, the latest beginning of the XIV century.
The second precinct was built in the first half of the XIIIth century, being in fact an extension to the first precinct around Huet Square, built in the late XIIth century.
When the fortification lost it's role, buildings were built on and around it, some fragments like this being integrated into the new buildings.
