This building is actually two separate buildings. If the building was cut in half, the portion towards the southeast would have been the original building. Under the brick facade, the original wood frame construction remains. The wood building was moved from the corner of Harper and Page in three sections. It was one of the oldest churches in Poteau, built in the early 1900s. As the church grew, they needed more space. The building was moved and put back together in its current location. The sanctuary was constructed later, as well as the brick outer shell.
