Darrell Lance "Dimebag" Abbott (1966-2004) was a founding member of the notable heavy metal bands Pantera and Damageplan and was shot to death on stage during a Damageplan concert on December 8, 2004, in Columbus, Ohio. Dime was considered by Rolling Stone Magazine and Metal Hammer Magazine to be one of the best guitarists of all time. Abbott's mother, Carolyn, is also buried in this family plot.
