International Monitoring System, infrasound monitoring site
This is one of four elements of an infrasound (very-low-frequency sound) monitoring array operated by the Lamto Geophysical Station in cooperation with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). The geometry of the array is triangular (sides ~3km), with central site H1 and corner sites H2-H4. The CTBTO uses arrays such as this in combination with seismic, hydroacoustic, and radionuclide stations to monitor the Earth for nuclear explosions.
