Mayathi sree bhagavathi temple is an ancient temple located at Mayathi in between Kerala and Karnataka border. Mayathi is about 75 away from Kasargod. And is easily accessed from Karnataka, by train and road.

It is the only temple that is dedicated to goddess mahalakshmi.. This temple is very well known among the people of kerala. and the goddess Mahalakshmi is called in Karnatakal as Mookambika.mahalakshmi temple is located exactly on the banks of the chandragiri river that runs close to the foot hills of the kaveri River.
