  • One of the earliest known Rajarajeshwari Temple of Kodagu district. One of its kind in the entire district. Said to have been brought down from Sullia by the descendants of the Ballal King Family who ruled Sullia. Also called Tulurvanam. Main seat of Tulu Kings. Mostly forgotten in the history of Kannada!
  • We are descendants of the Ballal King Family who ruled Sullia. We belong to the Ashta Ballal Parampara. Till about 500 years back we had Ballal as our surname. Later on we were converted to Nairs. Our family is called Katoor! And the presiding Mukteshawara Dharmadhikari is Katoor Narayanan Nambiar. We have a wonderful history. But somehow the Kannada historians have hardly taken notice of it.
