This is a model of Seokguram (석굴암/石窟庵), a cave hermitage located outside of Gyeongju on a cliff overlooking the Sea of Japan. The temple was built by Kim Daeseong between 742 and 774, and is well known for its graceful Buddhist carvings. Today, the grotto is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
