The Wiley Post Event Center is tucked in a serene wooded area near the west side of Wiley Post Park, located at SW 17 and Robinson. With ample parking, close proximity to the Wiley Post playground and sprayground, and beautiful views of the Oklahoma River, the Wiley Post Event Center is the perfect location for summer parties and events.
The park is named for Wiley Post (1898-1935), a barn stormer and test pilot in the early days of aviation. He also was influential in the design of the first successful pressurized space suit. In 1931, he circled the globe in his “Winnie Mae” with his navigator. Again, from July 15-22, 1933, he flew solo around the globe in 7 days, 18 hours and 49 minutes. Wiley Post was killed in a plane crash in Alaska, accompanied by Will Rogers, on August 15, 1975
