Golf & equestrian community built on the former estate of Arthur Godfrey, radio & television personality. The Johnny Miller-designed golf course has been dormant and unused for years due to financial and legal disputes. Early 2012 saw a local man arrested for a so-called "golf course Ponzi scheme" when his reported attempt to buy the embattled golf course was caught up in financial wrong-doing involving the misuse of investor money. The Beacon Hill Homeowners' Association subsequently purchased the golf course from the original owners, and as of 2017 they are actively seeking investors to buy the course and open it to the public. The course's future is still uncertain.

The community consists of a little over 200 residences, including three historic homes that predate the community (one of which is the National Register of Historic Places-listed Ellwood estate). Builders, which began construction in 1999 & 2000, included Renaissance Homes, M/I Homes, Craftmark Homes, Schulz Custom Homes, Yeonas & Ellis, Apex Custom Homes and Knutson Homes, as well as a single Wetherburne home and numerous unique custom builds. The houses range in size from about 4,000 square feet to well over 10,000 square feet. M/I and Renaissance built the most homes in the community, with many of those being sited on the smaller 3/4 to 1-acre lots. These homes are mostly non-custom in design, with a set collection of structural options available to buyers. The larger lots, which are up to about 4.75 acres in size, are where most of the semi-custom and custom builds are located.
