Club Quarters Hotel (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / West 51st Street, 25
 hotel, bank

268-foot, 26-story postmodern hotel completed in 2006. Designed by Rapp & Byrne Architects, it has an 8-story base, with the upper tower recessed and offset to the west. The double-height ground floor is framed in grey granite, which also covers the 2nd floor, with a large, glass-enclosed storefront at the eastern two-thirds, and the hotel entrance at the west. There are two sets of glass-and-metal double-doors, one into the lobby, and one into the adjoining restaurant, and a metal service door at the west end. A square, metal canopy covers the lobby and service doors. There is a large windows above the canopy, flanked by grey metal panels, the tops of which have metal louvers and mounts for a pair of projecting flagpoles. A grey metal band also extends across the top of the storefront at right.

The upper floors of the base have seven bays, with triple-windows, except for the wider center bay, which has five panes. The windows are slightly recessed in stone surrounds, and topped by horizontal metal panels at the 2nd floor. Above the 2nd floor the base is clad in dark-red brick. The 3rd-4th floors have double-height bays, with white metal spandrels dividing the two floors within each bay. All of the windows have air-conditioning vents below them. The 8th floor is mostly recessed, fronted by a terrace partially enclosed by a glass railing. The back half of the terrace has a roof and the front half has an angled canvas awning. The 8th floor houses the Terrace Club, a private restaurant and networking club featuring indoor/outdoor dining overlooking Rockefeller Center.

The set-back upper tower is three bays wide and faced in tan brick, with a smaller setback above the 21st floor. The double-windows are divided between floors by metal vents. On the top five floors, the east bay has triple-windows that wrap around the corner onto the front of the east facade. The rest of the upper east elevation has three bays of windows up to the 21st floor, and two bays on the top five floors. The base on this elevation is finished in grey-painted concrete with a short return of the red brick from the front. Near the middle there are single-windows in wide recessed panels at the 3rd and 5th-7th floors, with an extra window toward the rear on the 7th floor, and a larger window on the 8th. The west elevation has one bay of small, square windows near the front, shifted to the front edge at the top five floors. The rear, north-facing facade has a bay of double-windows near the middle and a bay of single-windows at the west side. A tall, cylindrical water tower is visible at the west side of the roof.

There is a branch of the Bank of America occupying most of the building at street level next to the entrance to Johnny Utah's Western Bronco Club.
