For seven years the East Kemptville mine was a
major producer of tin, zinc and copper.
The mine closed in 1992

Another company is drilling here and is finding expected reserves. By-product Iridium is also being found. As no new tin mines have opened in a decade and much of the tin from Africa is banned as "Conflict" tin chances look good for this mine to re-open .
