World's Highest Tides

The highest tides on planet Earth occur near Wolfville, in Nova Scotia's Minas Basin. The water level at high tide can be as much as 16 meters (52.5 feet) higher than at low tide.

  • At this location, the highest tide is approximately 14 m. As you move up the Basin and into the Cumberland Basin you will see tides of 16 m. However, tides in this region are spectacular - something you absolutely have to witness for yourself!
