Western Brook Pond

A fjord carved by glaciers, then cut off from the sea when the ice melted and the land rose. Notable for extremely clean water. Pissing Mare Falls, the tallest waterfall in eastern North America, drains into this pond.

  • 2 tour boats are at the "pond", one dragged over the ice, and the other flown in sections by helicopter. The tour is worth the money. Stunningly beautiful. The walk from the road to the dock is also beautiful.
