Pubnico Point wind farm is located at the tip of the peninsula about 11 km south of Pubnico, in southwestern Nova Scotia, Canada. Commissioned in 2004 and 2005, it consists of 17 Vestas V80/1800 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 30.6 MW.
The 17 turbines generate approximately 100,000,000 kW/hr of electricity annually, enough to power 10,000-13,000 average Canadian homes per year.
This wind farm was in the news in 2019 when one of the turbines was destroyed by fire on the afternoon of March 15: globalnews.ca/news/5063717/west-pubnico-turbine-fire/
