U.S. Army post adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery.
Established in 1863 as Fort Whipple. Redesignated in 1881 in honor of Brig. Gen. Albert Myer, Chief Signal Officer of the US Army, 1866–80.
Formerly home to the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, less 1st Squadron from 1919 to 1941 and the 1st Battalion, 16th Field Artillery from 1922 to 1941.
