Site of Michigan's first capitol building. In 1905, the remains of Stevens T. Mason, the State's first governor were interred on the site after resting in New York for over 60 years. The statue of the governor was installed on the site in 1908. Currently under redevelopment, demolishing some dilapidated bus terminals.
