Designed to be Detroit's Fifth Avenue, many stores, like Himmelhoch's, theatres, and the grand Book Tower, now in abandonment, once graced this grand boulevard. Perhaps with the reopening and revitalization of the Book-Cadillac Hotel on the south end of the boulevard, Washington Blvd. might one day see its true potential.
