railroad, historical layer / disappeared object
This is the mainline branch of the Ligonier Valley Railroad, which ran from Ligonier to Latrobe, where it joined the Pennsylvania Railroad. After the LRR could no longer operate due to financial failure, the PRR acquire the line and used it as a spur until its final dissolution. Norfolk Southern removed the last of the rails from the spur in 2011 and the line is now completely abandoned. There is talk of the line now being turned into a walking and biking trail.
