A monument in honor of the victors in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 that liberated Bulgaria from Ottoman rule, the Russian troops and the Bulgarian volunteers. The monument was opened in 2008, during an official visit by Russian president Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of the 130-year anniversary of the Treaty of San Stefano (3 March 1878), which ended the war.
