Tenterden Gateway Folly (Tenterden)

United Kingdom / England / Tenterden
 folly, gatehouse

Originally a Gatehouse for the stately home beyond it, now recently renovated by it's new and generous celebrity owner to stand for another couple of centuries with a new role :-
Standing looking up the length of Tenterden high street on the junction of the A28 and Smallhythe Road - is what I call the Tenterden Gateway Folly. Standing since before 1980 as a ruin on private ground, the owner(s) up until 2009 repeatedly denied requests from the Townsfolk to renovate it or knock it down due it being prominent on the town's high street famous for tourist antique shops. Now recently completed works on it make it worthy of taking a photo of it.
