  • EMU Carshed at Velachery which is a part of the MRTS project has been established to cater the preventive maintenance of EMUs running in the MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) section. The total area of EMU carshed is 44 hectares, which is being developed in two phases. Under phase I, Inspection and Heavy Repair facilities, service buildings and 11Kv Sub station are completed and in phase II, Medium and light repair bays, triangular turn out for EMU’s, 14 nos. of stabling lines, 2 lines for EMU coach washing with concrete platform for external washing and cement concrete apron for inside washing, one test track of 1.2 Km length and staff quarters are under construction.
