Residence designed c. 1914 in the French Manor style by and for William Adams Delano {architect}. Delano was a partner in the noted architecture firm of Delano & Aldrich. He was also a member of The Century Association. The summer retreat home was built on 10 acres of the former Bronson Winthrop property; his main residence was at 131 E. 36th St. New York City. Samuel Yellin fabricated the entry gate, later sold in 2000.

In 1921, Beatrix Jones Farrand was comissioned to design garden flower borders to complement Delano's designs for the rose garden, cutting garden, and tennis court.
