Elio Motors is an American startup automaker founded in 2009 by Paul Elio, engineer and company CEO with more than 18 years of engineering and executive management experience. Elio has designed an aerodynamic, fuel-efficient (84 mpg), low-cost ($7,450 target price as of 2021), three wheeled motor vehicle. The vehicle has continually been described by the company as being on sale soon since 2012, but as of 2021 still has not come to market. The company faces fund shortages and it is uncertain if the vehicle will ever be released.
