Coram is a former settlement located by what is today, Shasta Dam. The town was established in 1906 to accomodate the Balaklala Mine. The town quickly grew to 1,000 residents and was incorporated in 1910. The mine closed in 1911, leaving Coram deserted and disincorporated years later. The town became the stockyard for the construction of Shasta Dam. Today, all that is left of Coram are the foundations of the buildings that previously stood in the town.
