Residence c. 1863 in the Flemish/Gothic Victorian style designed by Frederick S. Copley for William Helmsley Emory, Jr. It was subsequently purchased by John M. Demarest in 1917. Demarest commissioned Olmsted for landscaping in 1919. General John Pershing lived here as guest of Demarest family and is said to have written his autobiography here.
