ruins, Roman Empire, amphitheatre, interesting place
The ruined city of Acinipo (also known as old Ronda) lies at 1000m above sea level on an escarpment that afforded protection from attack. Originally settled by Iberian Celts, the city rose to prominence in the first century under Roman authority. Today it is an active archeological dig and includes bronze age excavations and the ruin of a Roman ampitheater.
