This is one of the oldest conserved residential house in the region. It was built in 1710. Here were born: Ilarion Makariopolski – one of the prime activist in the strife for autonomous bulgarian church; Nikola Mihaylovski – younger brother of Ilarion, bookman, educational and cultural Bulgarian Renaissance activist; Stoyan Mihaylovski – son of Nikola, a poet and satirist. In 1863 in part of the house was established a community center named “Napredak” (literally: “Progress”). The building is restored and now is a museum with four exhibitions: “Everyday life and culture of Bulgarian Renaissance 18th-19th century”; “Petko Yo. Todorov – life and work”; Portrait art by painters from Elena”; “Christian art 15th-19th century”.
