This neighborhood is actually what is left of the Original Texas town of East Baytown. East Baytown, the current city of Baytown's namesake was one of the three original towns that merged and became Baytown Texas. Many people do not understand the name because it's on Baytown's Southwest side but it has no reference to Baytown, it references that is east of the Bay(s).
