park, forest
Known for its champion sweetwater trees, this forest was purchased in 1926 and is maintained by the Texas Forest Service (a branch of the Texas A&M University System). The forest is open daily and features hiking, biking, and horseback trails. It also serves as a major greenbelt area to the sprawling Woodlands development (and yet is more "Woodlands" than the rest of the city).
