The Teteven Monastery is situated at southern foots of Ostrets Peak - north-eastern part of town of Teteven. It was built in the times of the Second Bulgarian State.
The monastery has an interesting architecture. The walls of the altar are semicircular, forming a trefoil.
In the temple are preserved paintings from different periods: from XVII c. (in the altar part) and from XIX century (inside the church - it is suggested they are works of Ivan Dospevski). Some of the most valuable icons are St. Elijah, The Christ Abstainer, John the Baptist, St. Constantine and Helena and Archangels Convention, dating back to XVIII century.
