Lateral ridge (but spectacular) of Măcin Mountains. Also called "the little Făgăraş" or "little Transylvanian Alps" because of the sharp peaks, remembering the alpine "horns". Part of the National Park of Măcin Mts. Massive granite disaggregation, with tors and fallen round boulders, the iconic landscape of the park. Rocky-steppe vegetation, small flora. Dry and hot climate in the summer. Reptile species -the Greek turtle and the viper snake. Strong wind from Russia in the winter. Route for migration birds in autumn-spring.
