 condominium, 1989_construction

9-story postmodern residential building completed in 1989. Designed by Gruzen Samton Steinglass, it has a rusticated limestone base on a red granite water table. The base in 1-story on the west side of the building, and 2 stories on the east side. The east ground floor wall is clad in red brick with horizontal stone banding, recessed behind an arcade of rusticated limestone columns. The main entrance, in the center of this facade, is nicely demarcated by a six-story façade indentation.

The upper floors are clad in red brick, with double casement windows. Air conditioning vents are located below each window group. The top two floors of the building also have some recessed balconies and the top half of the top floor is stone, capped by a small cornice. While the main façades are broad and flush, the north façade is considerably more interesting with a stepped plan above the ground floor that provides many more corners, with unusual layouts and window patterns. There are six stepbacks along the facade. The Regatta contains 182 condominium units. The ground floor is occupied by a Gristedes grocery store, Four Seasons Dry Cleaners, Battery Park Realty, and Cove Nail Spa.
