  • My ancestors, the Marozas family were from Vilkiskis a couple of miles away (and buried in this church cemetery) Marcijonas Masrozas was given 127.5 acres by Count Tiskovicius who was a huge landowner here. People who lived here were serfs for the most part to his estate. They attended this beautiful church.
  • Marozas ...correct spelling Marcijonas Marozas went from serf to manager of the count's estate The land he was given was in Vilkiskis, 1.9 km.rom Spirakiai. In Vilkiskis there were only ever 2 homes: the count's manor that burned down in 1940 and Marcijonas' which is still standing empty. His brother Kazimieu built Marcijonas ' and some homes in Spirakiai notable for their fancier trims
