park, forest
Hays Woods is a hilly forest overlooking the Monongahela River. At over 600 acres it is the largest undeveloped land tract in Pittsburgh proper and is larger than any of the city's parks. A network of trails supports a variety of recreational activities. The last few years have seen conflict between environmentalists and potential miners/developers of the site.
