Falkland Islands Government House was built in 1845 and serves as the primary residence and office of the Governor of the Falkland Islands.

Government House became world-famous on April 2nd 1982 when it became the site of a brief but fierce battle between British and Argentine forces before it was surrendered and became the primary residence of the Argentine Governor. Following the cessation of hostilities on June 14th 1982, Government House returned to British control.
